The City of Fayetteville Information Technology Department manages and supports the operation of essential City computer systems, software applications and networks. The department also provides IT project management and business analysis services to City departments for process improvement, hardware and software acquisition, and long-term technology planning. The It department consists of four areas.
Enterprise Application Management
Provides technical and advisory services pertaining to enterprise software applications, including project management, software development life cycle management, database management services and Internet web development and management.
Geographic Information Systems
GIS technology provides interactive maps to City staff, regional partners, and residents. City staff use GIS to aid their daily operations and decision-making. Dynamic maps help the City plan for the future needs and growth, respond to customer requests and emergency situations. The City of Fayetteville, Fayette County, and several Government agencies partner to share GIS data to help improve the accuracy of the City’s maps. The City offers online map and property data that residents can view and search interactively or download and print from the property records.
Responsible for the design, administration, and security of networks and network-based applications. Additional responsibilities includes e-mail systems, virus protection, server administration, and telephone systems.
IT Help Desk support on hardware and software for City employees. Services include troubleshooting, installation, and assistance with IT equipment purchases. IT Business Analysts serve as technology liaisons and collaborators with City departments to understand business needs. We analyze business processes and develop improvements to those processes through the effective use of technology.
