Qualifying dates announced for City of Fayetteville 2019 elections

The City of Fayetteville is committed to providing each citizen of the City of Fayetteville with the opportunity to exercise his or her right to vote in an efficient and equitable manner in accordance with the Constitutions of the United States and the Code of Georgia.

Qualifying for City of Fayetteville Council Post 1, Post 2, and Mayor will take place Monday, August 19, 2019 through Friday, August 23, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day at Fayetteville City Hall, 240 South Glynn Street, Fayetteville, Georgia 30214. All posts are at-large.

Eligibility – must be 21 years of age, must be a registered voter in the City of Fayetteville, Georgia, and must be a resident of the City of Fayetteville for a minimum of one year immediately preceding the general election on November 5, 2019.

Qualifying fee for Mayor is $396.00 and for Council Post 1 and Post 2 the fee is $288.00.

Election date is Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Deadline to register to vote is Monday, October 7, 2019.

Advanced in-person voting (early voting) takes place Monday, October 14, 2019 through Friday, November 1, 2019. Early polling locations will be at the Fayette County Administrative Complex in Fayetteville, the Peachtree City Library, and Tyrone Town Hall.

Election Day voting locations for Fayetteville’s Municipal Election are the Fayette County Public Library at 1821 Heritage Park Way for residents that live south of Highway 54, and the Lafayette Educational Center at 205 Lafayette Avenue for residents that live north of Highway 54.
