Construction is expected to begin as early as Thursday, Sept. 6, on pedestrian crossing improvements at the Piedmont Fayette Hospital main entrance along Hwy. 54 in Fayetteville.
Sidewalk and crosswalk improvement work began in late August on the south side of the intersection at the Togwatee Village entrance. When all of the construction is completed, pedestrians will have better and safer access across the highway.
While improvements are being made, vehicles will still be allowed to access the hospital from Hwy. 54, but please be careful going through the construction area.
Entrance to the hospital may also be made through the medical office property just west of the hospital or from entrances on South Sandy Creek Road, which runs along the east side of the hospital.
