The Junior Police Academy gives middle school students a chance to learn about police work first hand. Cadets are invited to a week-long program at the Fayetteville Police Department and are taught a variety of subjects by officers who use the information in the field daily. Topics include patrol techniques, constitutional rights, traffic enforcement, crime scene investigation, defensive tactics and more.
In order to qualify for the program, students must meet the following requirements:
- Must be at the middle school level with a minimum “C” GPA
- No more than two unexcused absences for the semester
- Must not have been arrested or referred to juvenile probation for any felony crime, or have any arrest for crimes of moral turpitude.
If you meet these requirements and are interested in attending, look for the 2019 application in May!
