Portion of Johnson Avenue in Fayetteville to be temporarily closed starting Monday, Aug. 20

A collapsed storm drain was discovered under the Fayetteville Fire Station #91 front ramp facing Johnson Avenue.

The portion of Johnson Avenue in Fayetteville between the American Legion Log Cabin and Fayetteville Fire Station #91 (between Hwy. 85 and Lee Street) will be closed Monday, Aug. 20, and possibly through Friday, Aug. 24, so a collapsed stormwater pipe can be repaired.

Both Hwy. 85 and Lee Street will remain completely open.

Access to the fire station will remain available via Lee Street. Access to the American Legion Log Cabin will remain available via Hwy. 85. Access to the Fayette County Historical Society headquarters will remain available via Lee Street.

Updates throughout the closure will be posted on the City of Fayetteville’s website, fayetteville-ga.gov, and on the City’s Nextdoor, Facebook and Twitter pages.
