A Georgia Department of Transportation contractor has begun repaving work on 14.31 miles of Hwy. 92 extending south from Fayetteville. Only a small portion of the roadway is in the City of Fayetteville, and about 70 percent of the project takes place in unincorporated Fayette County, with the remainder taking place in Spalding County all the way to the Westmoreland Road intersection.
GDOT officials say they will have the repaving completed by June 30, and the re-striping should be completed by mid-August.
All of the work is being scheduled overnight between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Please use caution when traveling close to road construction crews.
Anyone with questions or concerns may contact the GDOT District 1 office directly at 706-646-6900.
