Georgia Department of Transportation District 3 officials say contractors had good weather last night for laying the asphalt topping on the inside westbound lane of Hwy. 54 heading into Peachtree City, and they say they may reach the Coweta County border tonight, then turn back to continue working on the inside eastbound lane.
According to GDOT, the contractor will continue to work overnight, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., and will continue to pave one lane at a time, uninterrupted, weather permitting.
The entire repaving project spans Hwy. 54 from the Coweta County line through Peachtree City and Fayetteville to a point just past the McDonough Road intersection east of Fayetteville.
Anyone with questions or concerns about the project may contact the GDOT District 3 office at 706-845-4115 or by e-mailing email@example.com.
