Hwy. 54 repaving continues near Peachtree City over weekend

Upgraded wheelchair-accessible sidewalk ramps are scheduled to be poured at the intersection of Hwy. 54 and North Jeff Davis Drive on Saturday, July 28.

Georgia Department of Transportation District 3 officials say repaving work this weekend will be focused in the Peachtree City area this weekend, and they say the contractor will work around the clock from 7 p.m. Friday, July 27, to 6 a.m. Monday, July 30.

GDOT officials say the contractor hopes to start at the Hwy. 74 intersection in Peachtree City and repave four miles of the outside, eastbound lane. The Ebenezer Road intersection between Fayetteville and Peachtree City is about four miles east of the Hwy. 74 intersection.

Also, GDOT officials say upgraded wheelchair sidewalk ramps will be poured at the intersection of Hwy. 54 and North Jeff Davis Drive in Fayetteville sometime on Saturday, July 28.

It has been estimated that repaving work will return to Downtown Fayetteville during the weekend of August 3-6.

With all of this work, motorist can expect traffic delays in affected areas, but GDOT officials say at least one lane of traffic should be kept open throughout the weekend.
