POW & MIA Recognition Day Ceremony

American Legion Post 105 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Pot 3650 will host the annual POW & MIA Recognition Day Ceremony on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Patriot Park, 1100 Redwine Road, Fayetteville, Georgia 30215. Since 1979, this event honors the service and sacrifice of those who have been prisoners of war (POW) as well as those of the U.S. Military who are still considered missing in action (MIA). The ceremony includes reading of the POW/MIA Proclamation, presentation of a memorial wreath, flyover by a U.S. Army helicopter, personal remembrances of local POWs and MIAs, and the symbolic POW/MIA table. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the American Legion Log Cabin, 180 South Glynn Street, Fayetteville 30214.
