Dry weather expected for Saturday events, Free movie moved to Saturday evening

Weather forecasters are calling for a dry Saturday just in time for a full day of The Great Pumpkin Festival activities here in Historic Downtown Fayetteville.

Despite today’s rainy weather, Pumpkins on the Square is under way, and decorated pumpkins are already lining the Old Courthouse Lawn. More will be added throughout the day.

The Free Movie under the Stars event featuring the film “Hocus Pocus” has been moved to tomorrow evening, Oct. 27, at 6:30 because of weather concerns.

All of The Great Pumpkin Festival activities for Saturday are proceeding as planned, including the Main Street Market and Fall Festival happening 10-5 on the Old Courthouse Lawn. Also happening 10-5 is the Fayetteville Fire Department’s annual Open House at Station #91 located two blocks south.

Two Halloween-themed events will round out the day: Free Movie under the Stars featuring “Hocus Pocus” on the Old Courthouse lawn at 6:30; and Haunted Woods at The Ridge Nature Area at 6.
