Overview

Chief Jones joined the Fayetteville Fire Department as a firefighter in 1988.  He held numerous positions within the department until becoming fire chief in 1998.  He assumed additional duties as Assistant City Manager in 2014.  In addition to fire, Chief Jones has a training background in Emergency Management and Homeland Security.  He is a State of Georgia Emergency Medical Technician, a State Fire Academy Adjunct Instructor, and a Georgia Smoke Diver.  He has an Associate of Arts from Gordon College and completed the UGA Management Development Program.  Chief Jones is also a graduate of the 2014 Fayette Leadership program.

Chief Black started her fire service career with Henry County Fire Department in 1984.  In 1987 she joined the Fayette County Fire Department where she served as a lieutenant for five years.  Chief Black joined the Fayetteville Fire Department as a fire inspector/educator in 1996.  She served as the department’s training officer for a short time before her promotion to Deputy Fire Chief in 1998.  In addition to fire, Chief Black has a training background in Emergency Management and Homeland Security.  She is a State of Georgia Paramedic, a State Fire Academy Adjunct Instructor and Advanced Arson Investigator.  She has also completed the UGA Management Development Program.
