Fayetteville city officials Tuesday morning inspected progress on the new roundabout being built at the Veterans Parkway and Sandy Creek Road intersection, and they lifted the detours that have been in place for about a month.
“This is still very much an active construction zone and is signed as such with reduced speed limits and barricades,” said Fayetteville Public Services Director Chris Hindman. “There will still be work on the lighting, landscaping, ADA ramps and the pavers in the circle.
“This is the first step in opening the roundabout as anticipated,” Hindman said.
Construction of the second roundabout on that portion of Veterans Parkway is part of a development agreement with the developers of the Pinewood Forrest multi-use project, which sits across the road from the Pinewood Atlanta Studios facilities.
