Dec. 1 Fayetteville Christmas Parade, tree lighting has been cancelled due to severe weather; museum event running 1-4 as scheduled

The Dec. 1 Fayetteville Christmas Parade and tree lighting have been cancelled due to severe weather forecasts, but the Victorian Christmas Open House at the Holliday Dorsey Fife Museum on the Courthouse Square is still happening 1-4 p.m. as scheduled.

“Due to worsening conditions, we are forced to cancel this year’s parade and tree lighting events,” said Fayetteville Downtown Development Director Brian Wismer. “We really tried to hold out for an improvement in the forecast, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out this time.”
