The City of Fayetteville in 2018 used SPLOST funds to purchase approximately eight acres of land from the Fayette County Board of Education for the purpose of building a multi-faceted city park. The City also used non-SPLOST funds to purchase an adjacent two-acre tract fronting Stonewall Avneue (Hwy. 54 eastbound) for the purpose of building a new City Hall facility. The parcels are located just off the Courthouse Square in Downtown Fayetteville. The park land also abuts the Fayette County Public Library campus, which opens the door to great connectivity possibilities.
Since 2018, the City has hired a project management firm, an architectural firm and a general contractor to design and build these projects in coordination with City staff and elected officials.
As updates to the project become available, they will be published here on this web page.
