The most prevalent and visible is our Uniform Patrol Division. The patrol division encompasses four patrol teams that provide law enforcement services 24 hours a day seven days a week. Patrol is tasked with answering calls for service, responding to traffic accidents, enforcement of the traffic laws, general and preventive patrols, and community relations.
Captain Patty Kent began her law enforcement career in 1992 with the Fayetteville Police Department as a police dispatcher where she held the position of the TAC Officer. In 1994 she attended the Public Safety Training Institute (P.S.T.I.) in Clayton County obtaining her state-mandated law enforcement certification. She rose through the ranks reaching up to the rank of Captain over Uniform Patrol Division. She is a graduate of the Columbus State University Professional Management Program. Through her service with the department, she has been awarded Officer of the Year and Employee of the Year twice as well as various recognition awards and community service awards.
