Once a qualified candidate submits an application, they will be invited to the next testing date. Applicants will take a written test and a physical agility test on that day. After passing these tests, applicants will be given a background packet to complete and scheduled for an interview board.
The background investigation may take several weeks to complete. If the applicant has a satisfactory interview board and background investigation, the file will be reviewed and the applicants will be ranked. An interview with the Chief of Police for a conditional offer of employment will be scheduled next.
After receiving a conditional offer of employment, applicants must submit to a polygraph, psychological examination, and medical examination and drug test. Upon completion of these tests, the offer of employment is no longer conditional and the applicant will receive an anticipated start date.
