The City Clerk is responsible for the functioning of City Hall through administrative and clerical work. Work involves maintaining official city records, providing support to the City Manager, City Council, Director and Assistant Director of Finance and Administrative Services, other Department Directors, and staff. The City Clerk also responds to citizen inquiries and concerns.

Some of the more important functions of the office include:

  • Records and maintains city ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes, maintains and oversees city records/open records ensuring legal requirements are met. The City Clerk is responsible for maintenance of the Records Retention program for the city.  The City Clerk is the official Records Custodian for the city.
  • Customer service, including answering questions in person and over the phone, providing guidance, troubleshooting and following up with customers in resolving problems; may coordinate or act as liaison between functions/departments as required. City Clerk also coordinates and assists in meetings and events throughout the year on and off campus.The Deputy City Clerk is Valerie Glass.
