The Public Services Department is responsible for coordination of design and construction of transportation projects within the City Limits of Fayetteville. Projects are managed by Chris Hindman, Director of Public Services or call 770-460-4664 or contact a member of his staff.
The City of Fayetteville has an area of approximately 13 square miles and is home to about 137 miles of roadway. This includes several State Highways, Highway 85, Highway 54 (Lanier Avenue and Stonewall Avenue), Highway 92, and Highway 314 run through Fayetteville. The roads are under the jurisdiction of the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The City of Fayetteville relies on different funding mechanisms, when available, to fund for transportation projects. These funding mechanisms are the Georgia Department of Transportation's Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG), Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), and available local Special Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) funds.
Projects
Several transportation projects are planned for the near future funded through the SPLOST program.
